splash image requires crop, making duplicates in the media list

Still needs to be checked, can verify by editing the images on the above two pages and seeing if duplicates are created.

Cropped images will no longer be shown in the media library, however, this only applies for images which will be cropped from now on. Images which have been cropped in the past are still visible.
