System - Deletion of published collections failed
A folder containing about 1000 published collections was deleted. After delete, the folders were no longer visible from My Data; however, the published collections are still visible (and not deleted) in the catalog view. No DB exceptions were thrown. A delete record task was initiated and completed successfully. The delete task state contained all collections and data records to be deleted.
Update - the delete actually succeeded, but it took a while for the task to complete. In the mean time, all the published collections were visible from the catalog. It seems the real problem is that the initial step of the delete task needs to unlink published collections so they are no longer visible from the catalog. There would still be a window of opportunity for these collections to be accessed from stale catalog views. Need to investigate further.
Note that this is related to another issue with deleting published data. Currently, this feature is disabled.
