[OwnCloud] live editing is not reflected for a read-only shared doc
Hi,
If a document is shared without edit/change flags then the live editing does not work on the read-only side - i.e. the user does not see live changes done by other user. So need to close the doc and re-open it again to see the changes done. Is it a known feature or a bug?
If a document is shared with edit/change flag then live editing works as expected - both users can see the live changes.
Wanted to use the OnlyOffice plugin to share live doc editing to a third party who could only view the live editing without an option to edit the shared doc.
OnlyOffice 2.0.3 OwnCloud 10.0.10.4
Thanks
Hello @ainars-sk This behavior is not a bug. Changes added to the document will not be displayed in real-time in the viewer. However, you don't have to close the document and re-open it, refreshing the page is enough. We are working on new document sharing options, hope we will implement them in one of the future versions of ONLYOFFICE connector.
The live viewer feature is available starting from version 7.2 of the Document Server. It's enabled by default and allows users that open a document in viewing mode to see changes made by other users in real time. The feature can be disabled using the Advanced Settings -> Collaboration -> Show changes from other users option in the editor's interface.
Live viewer has a connections limit separate from editing connections. For example, the open source version of the Document Server has the limit of 20 editing connections and 20 live viewer connections.
