Onlyoffice don't show warning (or set read only) when file is locked
When documents are opened with onlyoffice in nextcloud it don't show a warning (or set read only) when file is locked (not locked by nextcloud) and don't show that can't save also on exit. If a user don't save the file manually (that show error) don't know that his changes will be lost and this cause very important issue. I don't found a way to solve/workaround it except tell to all users to try manually save any time before start and after finish changes on a document in onlyoffice (and if is after finish should save on other file, this is bad because cause "duplicate" and waste time for check/merge). Is possibile solves it adding at least a warning or set readonly if file is locked on opening please? is there a setting to workaround this issue I not found? thanks for any reply and sorry for my bad english
tested on server with: nextcloud 20.0.8 onlyoffice-nextcloud 6.3.0 onlyoffice-documentserver 6.2.2-21 but I tried also on older systems with same issue
I found another issue related to locking, the file opened with onlyoffice are not locked and if opened by others office don't know that file are in use (for opening readonly and show warning) causing lost change if modified by both onlyoffice and other at same time! the first issue above is mainly with nextcloud share smb and this second is mainly with nextcloud local share.
Hi, The Nextcloud server does not have a locking mechanism by itself. Also, could you explain in more detail what kind of warning (or notification) you would like to see?
Thanks for reply, if is not possible lock file atleast check if .lock* file is present (created by other office suite) and open it readonly (like what do other office). And also create .lock* file when document is opened in editing, so other office know it and open as readonly. That should solves major of issue cases (of lost changes done by onlyoffice or other office suites on file still opened for editing) FWIK.
There is now a file locking feature, which is working with collabora. Is there a plan to support it too?
