Text-to-Column Vertical Shift

Open gskerry opened this issue 9 months ago • 5 comments

This issue is unique.

  • [x] I have used the search tool and did not find an issue describing my bug.

Operating System

macOS 10.12 or higher

Version information

8.3.1

Expected Behavior

Text-to-Column function will split cells leaving them vertically in-place (i.e. they will not change row position).

Actual Behavior

The split cells are shifted (I believe always up) to a new row. When using the undo button and then repeating the action, it interestingly behaves as expected, with no shift.

Reproduction Steps

  1. Highlight full column of data to be split
  2. Use text-to-column

I am getting a failure on upload of the screen recording. It is 22MB. Perhaps this is over the size limit.

Hello @gskerry,

I tried to reproduce your issue, but I wasn’t able to. Could you please attach the problematic file? Also, I wanted to check if you’ve updated to the latest version to see if the issue still occurs there.
