This issue is unique.

  • [X] I have used the search tool and did not find an issue describing my idea.

Your idea.

Add "Delete" and "Select All" option to contex menu (second click)

Like a lot of programs, secondary click shows a contex menu has the following options: Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete and Select All

I've checked several editors and

Google Docs: Delete in the context menu and no Select All LibreOffice: No Delete or Select All MS Office: No Delete or Select All VS Code (it's not our competitor, but still): No Delete or Select All

So only Google Docs has Delete entry and no one has Select All

I think Select All

About "Select All": yes, you are right, the office programas do not show "Select All" in contex menu, they have a button to select:

MS Word: imagen

MS Wordpad imagen

WPS Office: imagen

Google Doc: has a menu, edit > Select All

in other software (I generally use Linux) , I think that is the default context menu they appears:

Firefox (click in text for edit): imagen

Kate: imagen

Windows (File Explorer editing folder name) imagen

Dolphin (linux file explorer) imagen

I think that "Select All" option (and other "selects") could be appears in a button (like copy and paste) and for "Delete", I think that option could be appears in contex menu only when there is selected text

what do you think? thanks for you time and attention

Ok, thanks for detailed research

I've just checked next version v7.2.0 wich currently in development stage and there is Select All button, this is new one

So for Select all you'll need to wait for new release, so I think this question is answered )

About delete:

Is there any profits of having this in context menu (since I think almost all editors has no such entry for a reason) Isn't it simpler just to press del button on keyboard?

oh! that's cool so, just to wait for Select All
...and about Delete option in context menu, I think that can be usefull only for quick acces when the mouse is used. I understand that pressing del key make the job, but copy, and paste can be trigger with keys too, so, that is my opinion.. I think in the "pro/cons" and "cons" may be have "too many options in contex menu"?

anyway I thank you for your time and work to answer this suggestion

Thanks, in any case - I've created issue 58636 to discuss it with our design team - if we really need this option in the menu

Moving this issue to DocumentServer repo, since it's our base product and problem actual there too
