Open metal3d opened this issue 6 years ago • 16 comments

Do you want to request a feature or report a bug? Features

What is the current behavior? In presentation application, gifs are not animated, video are not displayed

If the current behavior is a bug, please provide the steps to reproduce and if possible a minimal demo of the problem.

Try to add an animated gif image as this one: https://cs231n.github.io/assets/nn3/opt1.gif

Note, on libreoffice, gifs make hanging the system, I can convert gif to webm and make them play on the presentation.

What is the expected behavior?

At least, gif animation should be animated. Add video inside the document should be displayed and possibly played with loop option.

Youtube is great, but somtimes we haven't internet when we display presentation for profesionnal prestation.

Which versions of DesktopEditors, and which OS are affected by this issue? Did this work in previous versions of DesktopEditors?

Fedora 29, x64 OnlyOffice Desktop Editor 5.2.8

Any updates on this? This is a deal breaker for me where I'm often making presentations going over gifs of ultrasound images

Dear OnlyOffice Team, our site is enterprise user of Onlyoffice.

To have animated GIF's is an important feature especially for how-to presentations. At what release we could expect the implementation?

Best regard; Desktop editors allow .gif images to be inserted, but their movements are not reproduced (the images remain static), as Microsoft Office and Libre Office do. I am a teacher and I constantly use .gif images in different text documents, spreadsheets and presentations. I appreciate you promptly resolving this error.

I cannot understand how this "simple" issue couldn't be fixed after years.

What is the problem?

metal3d avatar Mar 13 '24 00:03 metal3d

Is there any way to at least bundle a gif to mkv converter internally? Not the greatest solution, of course. But better than nothing.
