Attempting to use the plugin freezes decky

Open jackspade152 opened this issue 3 years ago • 5 comments

I have cached many games with the loader and they still show up on the game pages, however, when I open a new game it refuses to generate a badge. Upon opening the decky menu for protondb and more specifically opening a setting on the plugin, decky refuses to accept commands until the device is restarted. I can access all of the plugin menus and "change values" but none of these have any effect. After attempting to start the protondb plugin all vibrant deck no longer changes saturation, I cannot download new plugins, and I cannot uninstall plugins. uninstalling and downgrading to 1.0.3 did not help.

  1. If you remove ProtonDB Badges does everything work as normal?
  2. Can you also list what other plugins you have installed please so I can make sure there are no conflicts
  3. What version of Decky Loader are you using?

I have about 200 games cached without issue but I'll work through my library to cache more and see if I can recreate the issue.

I got to about 350 and had some issues loading game pages, clearing my cache fixed it. For now I'll release a new version without caching while I look at other caching options. Cheers for the report!

Thank you yeah I'm on decky 2.1.0-pre5, I have CSS loader, vibrant deck, power tools, and deck faqs. I Had around 86 games cached.

@jackspade152

I've created a new version here https://github.com/OMGDuke/protondb-decky/releases/tag/v1.0.5

It uses a much more performant way of caching the protondb data (I've got 400 games cached so far) I'll do some more testing before It goes on the store but if you'd like to see if it fixes your issue you could try manually installing this version!

After installing please clear your cache from the ProtonDB plugin menu in the Quick Access Menu. This will clear any remanence of the old cache too.

v1.0.6 has been submitted to the store, once it goes live i'll consider this closed unless the issue can be recreated https://github.com/SteamDeckHomebrew/decky-plugin-database/pull/104
