[Feature Request] Make it possible to load segmentation automatically
What feature or change would you like to see made?
It would be very helpful to make it possible to automatically load SEG series associated with the image when the image is selected by the user. To make this non-intrusive, this could be enabled by a configuration option.
Why should we prioritize this feature?
This was the default behavior in OHIF v2 (e.g., see https://viewer.imaging.datacommons.cancer.gov/viewer/1.3.6.1.4.1.14519.5.2.1.1706.8374.643249677828306008300337414785), so in a way it can be considered a regression.
Based on my experience, which is shared by @pieper, users are often unaware that segmentations exist (SEG series thumbnail does not necessarily communicate those are segmentations) and do not click on that series to load it.
Yes i think we should do that too. I talked to Igor, this can be implemented as a post call back to Hanging Protocols
@sedghi - @igoroctaviano is saying that automatic load of SEG was working in v3 at some point. Would it be possible to add a test to make sure this regression does not happen again? Is something like this supported by your testing infrastructure right now?
I don't remember we had it on by default, most likely we never had it. 99.99% sure about this
As discussed with @igoroctaviano, let's have it merged, and we can consider switching to using hanging protocol option when it is available.
