Export Scene from Blender?
Just a quick question. How do I export a whole scene from Blender and retain all the objects' relative positions/rotations and parent-child relationships? blender2ogre produces a .scene XML file, but there's no v2 port of the OgreDotScene plugin. Can we have an Ogre::v1::DotSceneLoader? I noticed there is a way to load JSON scenes in v2, but it expects a bunch of serialized data that's not known until the Items are loaded into Ogre and then exported out.
Ogre::v1::DotSceneLoader
There are no plans to support the DotSceneLoader. Though the community is free to make a port.

Yes. I wrote the DERGO plugin for Blender 2.79 (not 2.8x yet). It is very alpha and thus should only be used like in the video.
The further you stray away from that usage the more unstable it gets (and restarting the Dergo server often means restarting Blender too because it doesn't detect when the connection broke and try to reconnect).
Despite of its alpha state, Dergo supports JSON scene export from Blender, in fact the livingroom example uses Dergo to export the scene.
Awesome. Are there plans for a 2.8 port for DERGO? I have blend files that will only open in 2.8. (I also like 2.8 better.) I can help with that port, but it'd take me a while to get it done. I just don't want to start working on it if you already have that in the works.
I was referred to this thread when asking about the use of .scene file in OGRE 2.x
I am sorry to hear there are no current plans for a 2.x port of DotScene.
I would like to ask if there is any other advise for a way to export a scene from a tool (such as blender) and then get it loaded in OGRE 2.x
Thank you

Aside from Dergo? I don't know
I know it has been a few years, but I thought I'd ping this post to see if any of the people who responded in 2021 had any new suggestions regarding this question.
Thanks.
