Update controlled vocabs
In the admin system - update to current version as at http://vocabulary.odm2.org/
All controlled vocabularies are updated now
I verified the new organization types are there and spot checked a few more. This one looks good to me.
Live on production as part of 0.8 release. Closing.
This needs to be done again.
Good to know. Thanks!
Just did this myself
Thank you!
This should automatically be run every so often. Once a week or so, maybe.
@aufdenkampe Does this still need to be done manually when necessary?
@SRGDamia1, yes, this still needs to be done manually. We have not updated the CVs in the database since you did it, nor have we touched looked into automating CV updates..
Given that you've done the updates before, let us know if you want to contribute the code to automate these CV updates.
I just moved this issue to the new Milestone for the next release.
We'll look to automating this when we tackle:
- #550
@SRGDamia1 do you know whether http://vocabulary.odm2.org is being actively maintained? Are new terms getting released?
We were thinking toward moving to a Google Docs approach to be more nimble with updates, and also because of our plan to move to ODM2.1.
I haven't gotten responses to recent requests for updates.
@aufdenkampe - http://vocabulary.odm2.org has been updated within the last year to use newer versions of the components on which it is built. We are currently hosting it, but at the moment, new term submission is broken. I suspect it is a deployment configuration issue that happened when the deployment was updated, but we haven't debugged it yet. It is on my list of things to do, but my developers are currently tied up with other stuff.
Thank you @horsburgh !
@horsburgh, thanks for the update! I had seen some activity in the https://github.com/ODM2/ODM2ControlledVocabularies repo a bit more than a year ago, but I wasn't sure if that work had gotten applied to the online system. That's cool. It's really a great system. Is CUAHSI or anyone else actively using it?
It would be quite useful to fix the term submission system. When you do that, it might make sense to set up a group of moderators (Google Group?) to respond to new submissions, both to relieve the burden on you and also to be more nimble with updates.
