Clarification on matrix operation for discrete adjoint method

Open facusapienza21 opened this issue 2 years ago • 0 comments

Notice that in the discrete adjoint method, we have the term $$\frac{\partial A}{\partial \theta}$$ For $A$ matrix and $\theta$ vector this results in a tensor that may be difficult to evaluate and may require the reorganization of some of the multiplicative terms in the expression. Instead, this simple expression is valid when $\theta$ is scalar. If well I think is is better to leave it in the first form, this will need some clarification.
