Model vertex explosions (remastered models ?) on MacOS
Follow up of #704, where the crash itself was solved. There are still remaining problems, though, seen by users:
Reported by @MrGcGamer:
No crash, but still heavy vertex explosions for me (with Immortal Lock )
but also simply in the Quake hub :
...I also noticed, that the vertex explosions are also present without the mod on 1.30.1 as well as 1.31.0. (See vid)

Then @rtwomey noticed the Models > remaster option activated or not seems to have an effect:
By "vertex explosions" do you mean artifacts appearing all over the screen when there is e.g., a health chest somewhere in the scene? If so, I see this as well when I have
basedirset torereleaseand use the "remastered" models in graphics options with The Immortal Lock. If I set this back to "classic" (or just use the original game content) it seems to be fine.
I was having the same issue with the remastered models after updating MoltenVK to 1.2.10. It’s been fine since reverting to 1.2.9.
Hello @Perlence @MrGcGamer @rtwomey @Steve-Gibbs, Sorry for bothering you, is this still a thing on master or latest 1.31.2 with possibly newer / different MoltenVK ?
Unfortunately it's still present using MoltenVK 1.2.11.
@Steve-Gibbs thanks for the report. I'm leaving this open, then.
Hello @Perlence @MrGcGamer @rtwomey @Steve-Gibbs, Sorry for bothering you (again!), is this still present latest 1.32.0 with #755 fixed ?
Hi @vsonnier. Sorry for the late reply, I only just noticed your comment. I've just tested 1.32.0 with MoltenVK 1.2.11 but unfortunately it's still present.
However, Mac Source Ports use an older version of MoltenVK (1.2.7), so everything works as expected with their builds. https://www.macsourceports.com/game/quake
Hi @vsonnier, I just wanted to let you know that this has been fixed in MoltenVK 1.3.0
Thanks @Steve-Gibbs for your report ! Good news :) I'm closing this issue then, at last.
Don't hesitate to re-open one if something goes bad again.
My Mac support is lacking (no Mac to test , not enough Vulkan proficiency) so thank you for your patience.
You're welcome @vsonnier. That's no problem at all :) Thanks a lot, I'll be sure to let you know if anything else comes up.
