I believe the Initial Guess is generally based on what you "locked in" in the Simulator page before going back to the Solver. If you go to Simulator, hit Edit, and then hit Clear, it should go back to having nothing in the initial guess, and the Solver will make something up.
That said, I'm not sure it'll matter if you run the Solver with an initial guess that's invalid like this. It may be less efficient, but it should filter out those abilities quickly.
I see now, if I start it from the Simulator page it works fine, but when I Reset the solver page, it won't let me 'Start' any more as I don't have the initial guesses, it let's me start if I select 'all' on the crafter attribute though
with only level appropriate skills selected (Guaranteed by level)
with ALL selected
Note that with a level 90 crafter and Guaranteed by level selected, because Careful Synthesis is replaced with a higher level, you can no longer 'start'
But a level 62 crafter with guaranteed by level selected CAN because it's the appropriate level for the spell Careful Synthesis
Ah, that's interesting. Though I'm not sure what the right behavior would be. Essentially, the "Initial Guess" section is the locked-in version of whatever you were messing around with in the Simulator. So if you go to the Simulator and tell it to use impossible abilities, then that's somewhat on you?
Personally, I'd love to have a button to clear the initial guess from the Solver page though. That's probably the best solution to getting the Solver back to a good state.
