Describe the bug Leapp configuration completely lost when moving from Apple Intel to Apple Silicon

Leapp Version

0.24.3

To Reproduce

  1. Migrate ~/.Leapp/Leapp-lock.json from an Intel Mac to an M3 Mac
  2. Launch Leapp on the M3 Macc
  3. See error

Expected behavior

Migrated configuration should work on new Mac.

The issue you have is that the lock file is encrypted using your machine-id. It is a feature more than a bug. I have not tried the export/import function mentioned in the referenced ticket.

Exactly @thoroc, the idea is to allow the user to specify a password (retained in the keychain) that will be used by Leapp to encrypt and decrypt the configuration file; in this way, the configuration becomes portable.
