Feature request: deleting the image link

Hi, I would love to have a quick option to remove images from my notes. An option to remove the embedded image with a context menu item would be amazing.

You mean removing the local image file in the vault, right? So after deletion, the embed says "... is not created yet"? Or remove the embed also?

Thank you for the quick reply. My main use case is to remove the embed, basically clearing the line of the image. A context menu item called "remove image" would be great.

The file itself could remain in my vault, I use the "clear unused images" plugin for that.

+1 I came up with a request for the same feature, but saw that it already existed.

Context menu command - Delete Image from Obsidian Vault. (Move file to .trash and delete links (in current file)). We could have a customization option - move to .trash or delete current link only. Or two different commands in the context menu: delete link delete file

This feature is not available in Obsidian. There is a plugin mentioned above that scans the repository for unused images, but nowhere is there a function to delete a single image. Currently, to perform these actions, we have to manually find them in the system file manager and delete them.
