Also having this issue. I'm on wayland and using foot as my terminfl, so all images preview works through sixel. For some time (didn't actually notice when this happened) all image previews are just text. Also, found this issue in lf github. Seems like it's relevant and the problem is in chafa https://github.com/gokcehan/lf/issues/1582

This has already been addressed in #90 but the pull request hasn't been merged yet.
