I guess it is not compatible with the new arduino ide. I've never tested that, as arduino does not want to help me build the ide on linux.

I have no chance to test the code, but I think this is very useful in case the other pin can be fully accessed and used as I/O pin.
So the solution is to remove the CDC device? That seems correct, as the arduino reports itself as kinda "mixed device" which is not a keyboard 100%. Some devices might...
