Frames not displaying in the editor

Open HarmonyHoney opened this issue 7 years ago • 10 comments

Well, the frames display at the bottom of the editor, but there is no display in the middle so I can't see what's going on. This happens in the new release and happened to me often in the last release as well. When I deleted the exe and replaced it with a new one it seems to help, but for now I am using the old version.

Strange, is the same happening after selecting another frame (or when previewing)?

Which version works for you? I want to see what changed between versions.

Btw, did you see any folder called "ScreenToGif" or "Logs" at the same folder where the app is located?

Here is an image of it happening again just now. And Right now I am using 2.12, the problem still exists on the new version you uploaded recently. I have the exe on my desktop and I do not have said folders. The way I've seemed to "fix" it or temporarily solve the issue is by restarting the program a few times.

I try to click "Adjust to Content" "100%" scale or "Fit Image" and those don't solve it.

Please, could you answer these two questions?

Is the same happening after selecting another frame (or when previewing)?

Which version works for you? v2.11?

The issue persists after selecting a different frame.

And the issue occurs on the most recent version and the second most recent version.

Normally i just have to re-record the gif, and it will display properly after importing a new recording.

Thank you. This bug is a little bit different than I thought. I'll have to try to repro.

I'm not able reproduce this issue on my computer. But I made some changes to the code. Can you check if it's still happening? (Download the attached file)

So @HarryLight , any news?

I had this error also with 2.12.1, first the application worked fine but then, one day, it started showing this behaviour. I just upgraded to 2.14.1 and this looks fixed, but I don't know...

I'm experiencing this issue also. Specifically when importing discrete frames exported from After Effects CS5.5 using the built-in .png exporter. It does not happen when using the superPNG exporter.

edit: forgot, sorry. screentogif v2.34 edit2: weird, not happening when exporting from Photoshop CS5 with built-in .png exporter. After Effects has always been sort of a strange egg... edit3: also, thanks for this program, it's been really useful for processing gifs. donated

Just a note, this behavior is still happening on 2.35.4, and also happens with the ScreenToGif Test.zip version.

For 2.35.4: The problematic .png shows as 0 dpi in the Statistics tab, and shows some strange exif data in XnViewMP ("pixels per unit x"/"y" are both 1, and in working .pngs that data is either 2,000-4,000 or nonexistent.) Rendering the problematic frames works fine, and operations such as delay override and resizing also work. For my purposes that's perfectly fine, the issue is minor.

(I'm still not sure if this is the same problem OP is having, apologies if I'm bringing up something different)
