Failed to connect to secret storage

Open mikae1 opened this issue 1 year ago • 2 comments

Describe the bug

When starting the latest Flatpak version I get a dialogbox saying:

Nheko could not connect to the secure storage to save encryption secrets to. This can have multiple reasons. Check if your D-Bus service is running and you have configured a service like KWallet, Gnome Keyring, KeePassXC or the equivalent for your platform. If you are having trouble, feel free to open an issue here: https://github.com/Nheko-Reborn/nheko/issues

I’m getting nowhere from there. The only option I get is “Close”, which closes the app. Yes I have a KWallet. It has not been a problem so far.

To Reproduce

  1. Start the Flatpak version of Nheko

I had the same thing with 0.11.3 flatpak on Kubuntu 22.04

A workaround for this is going in Flatseal and giving nheko permission to use D-Bus session bus.

Thanks! Anybody know how I’d do that in KDE Flatpak Permission Settings? I see no such option. But you can set up System Bus Policies.
