Organize proxy hosts with folders / groups / tags or search

Open lieven121 opened this issue 5 years ago • 16 comments

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. When you add a lot of hosts to the Proxy Hosts page it becomes quite long to find the host you are looking for.

Describe the solution you'd like

  1. A way to put similar or related hosts in folders.
  2. A search field.

Describe alternatives you've considered I could instead use different accounts but that is kinda a hassle.

Nice suggestions :) When the UI moves to a React framework the search field, filtering and sorting will definitely be there.

Folders would be real nice. And if you could add custom nginx directives to a folder that will be applied to all hosts that it contains.

@jc21 Any idea when the UI is going to be moved to React? Branch?

Went to add this same basic thing as a feature request, searched and saw this so figured id post this here!

Even just some way to sort them by alphabetical or domain name would be better than nothing lol.

Also yea is there a ETA on the move to React? I totally understand if not...don't want to beholden to a time frame! Totally get it.

The filter can be an UI improvement by adding a dorp-down in the titles of the grid, and hide whatever item doesn't apply the filter.

In the other Hand I think Tags could be really useful, for example to group by environment, use, Locations, etc ( Production, Staging, Monitoring, Infrastructure and so on). To filther this could be useful to have a search box above the titles of the grid. image To Filter we need to start typing, this would bring a list of posible tags, and when we select one it's applied. Something as ConfigHub does image https://confighub.readthedocs.io/en/latest/pages/tabs/config/properties.html#editor-toolbar

I hope this grain of sand helps in any form. Regards.

Is there any updates regarding this? Would be nice to be able to group proxies based on domains, or local dns records etc. Currently it just dumps it all into a long list, which makes it difficult to manage/organize if there's many records.
