Inquiry: Dolby Vision?

Hi,

I wonder if the LAVVideoDecoder can correctly parse the dynamic PRU mapping information from Dolby Vision to the input of the video renderer? Thanks so much.

Yes

There are just two compatible renderers at this moment: MPC Video Renderer Jriver Video Renderer

Energy Media Player v1.0.0.204 supports Dolby Vision. Note: (Dolby Vision is support through Dolby Vision Extensions and HEVC Extensions).

I had no problem viewing Dolby Vision using "Energy Media Player" (it's FREE) on Windows 11 23H2. I noticed it renders Dolby Vision films more efficiently compared to other media players. Of course, you need to go into the settings and select the correct options to enable Dolby Vision and have the required codec extension installed (free).

Buy an advert or something. This is not the place to advertise some proprietary software. And for Dolby Vision support it uses Dolby Vision extensions, so you get exactly the same experience in native Windows media player, whatever it is called these days.

LAV already passes the RPU to renderers.
