Select2 Search Boxes Should Support Wildcards

When you wish to find all objects whose name contains a substring, the select2 search boxes require that you select an item from the drop down. You can't search for anything starting with "Simian", and instead must select each item from the list.

Investigate whether the select2 module can accept partial searches, or wildcards. Investigate updating the python API to allow searching both ways.
