Option to assign public IPs to instances in ASG

Open sommestad opened this issue 10 years ago • 4 comments

When creating launch configurations in the EC2 console, there's an option to automatically assign public IP:s to instances created in the ASG (actually, there's multiple options for IP address type).

Would it be possible to add this to the Asgard interface when creating a new ASG in a cluster? Would be really helpful in cases where I want to have public instances in ASG:s without having to assign public IP:s to them through some other script or instance.

+1, we are doing some heavy duty processing that requires direct access to S3 - without going through a nat instance.

Hi @sommestad,

I was working on this a while back but had difficulties receiving help, not an grails expert, https://github.com/teu/asgard/tree/vpc_public_ips Perhaps you can persuade someone to fix the tests. Thanks

Nice, @teu. Not a Grails man myself either, but might be able to dig into it.
