Problem Description

For the search bars that you can place below the dock and in the app drawer, I think it would be more visually appealing if it used the widget from the actual browser you have installed rather than a small selection of built-in ones. I remember that Shade Launcher could do this, as an example. I use forks of Firefox rather than regular Firefox, and I just like to see the icon of the actual browser I have installed rather than the stock Firefox one. Not a huge deal, just a small improvement. Thanks!

Proposed Solution

Use browser widget when selecting search bar for home screen / app drawer.

If you mean combining installed application search with web search, I strongly stay against of that. I hate it in windows and Huawei(Emui).

That's not bad when it's done right, and it could work, but that's not what OP says here.

OP is asking for the functionality to have Nova Launcher be able to replace the search bar with widgets from other apps that let you search. Like, for example, Google and Firefox both have their own search widgets that you can put on your home screen as you'd wish (except for the stock launcher on some phones which forces the Google widget to be made the search widget, but nonetheless an example of how implementation could work).
