Make apps hidden from drawer still editable on home screen

Open dataprolet opened this issue 2 years ago • 0 comments

Description

You can edit app shortcuts on the home screen by long pressing them and clicking the pencil icon ("Customize") to edit the app's name, icon or hide the shortcut. But when you hide the shortcut from the drawer (not the home screen!) the option to customize a shortcut on the home screen disappears. It doesn't make sense that these two thing are even connected to each other.

Expected Behavior

I want to be able to hide an app shortcut from the drawer (because I already have it on my home screen) and still be able to customize said shortcut on the home screen.

Actual Behavior

When an app shortcut is hidden from the app drawer but present on the home screen the option to customize the app's shortcut on the home screen is missing.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open app drawer
  2. Press and hold an app shortcut and add it to the home screen
  3. Go back to app drawer
  4. Hold the same app shortcut to open the options
  5. Select "Hide shortcut"
  6. Go to home screen
  7. Hold the app shortcut you just placed
  8. See the option to customize the shortcut missing
