I would like to work on this.@Leo6Leo can I know which broker classes are you talking about in `broker_defaults_test.go` so that I would get an idea about writing those test...

fix: Checked if path is empty string or not

@kmehant there was an issue open #1116 which I tried to fix. I have not came across any such use case.
