The list of apps is inaccessible if there are any apps in the history

Open iRomanyshyn opened this issue 1 year ago • 12 comments

Describe the bug The list of apps is inaccessible if there are any apps on the history. The swipe to the left gesture is only available if history is empty.

To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Install and run KISS Launcher.
  2. Swipe to left for applications list.
  3. Run any application to add it to the history.
  4. Try swipe left again on the main screen.

Expected behavior Expected to be able to use the applications list when the history is not empty.

Additional information

  • App version: 3.21.3
  • App installed via: f-droid

Additional context The bug was in the version 3.21.1 too. My Android version is 14 (Motorola Edge 40 Neo).

swipe to the left? wat?

Press the green circle icon in the search for the app list...

Ok, any gestures at the home screen become unavailable if the history is not empty.

yes, there are some settings for gestures, maybe tweak those a bit?

It doesn't change anything, as gestures won't work when the history is not empty.

Facing the same, I think. At least gestures don't work. It would be neat to open the app drawer by swiping up, instead of having to tap that tiny circle down in the corner.

Edit: upon further experimentation, I find that the gestures just don't work over the history. On OnePlus, the edge swipes are the forward/back buttons, so the area you have to swipe to show the app list becomes almost impossible to hit. Would be cool if we could gesture anywhere on the screen, like in the default launcher.

Any update? The app list is inaccessible if there are any apps in the history. It makes the KISS launcher very inconvenient. That's why I went to Kvaesitso.

Same identical problem here, as described the edges for the swipe become very small when history not empty...

Installed this launcher just now and immediately ran into this issue. Gestures stop working as soon as anything appears in history

This bug was reported more than year ago already. Is this launcher being developed currently?

@Arctomachine which PR did you open?

fyi I can't reproduce this on Android 14, the list appears ok, albeit I do need to swipe way up since otherwise Android thinks I want to "go back"

Again, as asked, how big is the "android back gesture" space selected in your Android Settings? Does that affect this issue in any way?

Android 13, miui, no gestures

Launcher registers any swipe on history as history scroll and thus ignores launcher gestures. Only tiny free space on sides and between navigation buttons registers gestures

I can confirm, it's possible to swipe to the list of all applications by dragging the very small area on the side of the screen. And it's only possible when the navigation gestures are turned off. But when you have navigation gestures enabled it's practically impossible to swipe but not trigger the Back gesture. I'm using a Motorola Edge 40 Neo with Android 15.
