Github code out of date, I'd like to contribute tweaks
Hey! Pretty impressed by https://papermap.xyz/, found it via a new search engine. I'd like to add functionality to it; some things I might add to my own version could include bulk select, highlighting papers different colors, highlighting based on which ones have notes, dark mode, export to json, etc. if I'm feeling particularly fancy, maybe even a button to apply iterations of a force-directed solver. probably not that one.
However, the code in this repo is pretty out of date with the current public one.
Should I try it anyway?
Hi Lahwran, I'm glad you like PaperMap! Some of the improvements you mentioned are planed such as an icon that show which paper have notes. There are other major enhancements in the work such as the possibility for users to login, to create multiple maps, to add tags on papers.. Your contributions are very welcome! The new version (with the server side code) is not yet open sourced, please reach me out via email (it should be visible in my GitHub profile) so we can discuss more!
