This is a known bug that I don't think will really be avoidable unless you toggle the service if you need to access GFE.

I could not reproduce this bug.

I have this issue, too. Nevertheless you can enable the container if you need GeForce Experience, if needed. Not the best solution at all I know.

I am experiencing the same problem. When I try to restore the default settings in the app, it hangs. Can someone tell me how to manually undo what this app has done for now? I'm oddly stuck. Thanks.

A follow-up: I believe it fails because the service is unable to be modified or start. My resolution was to manually edit the service, and fix the security account used to be "Local System".

After making this change, the service was able to start and the Experience app worked fine again.

@michealespinola I am curious how you did this. my GFE app also does not work when using disabling telemetry. Can you give me step by step directions? I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, is there any way you could upload V1.2 for me? the download links are dead.

@Forkinator I think you misunderstood what I meant, or I wasn't clear. In order to fix my GFE app, I had to manually re-enable to telemetry service. But, the service was broken and would not start. In order to fix the service I had to change the security account used to run it to be "Local System".

After making this change to the security account for the service, it was able to start and run again. After which the Experience app worked fine again as well.

But no, the Experience app will not run if the telemetry service is not running.

I have the same issue and have had it for a long time. GFE won't run without NVIDIA Telemetry service enabled.

I didn't even know this tool existed and was in search for a workaround to being able to disable the service and still use GFE. I tried out this tool and it worked, though I didn't disable the service using it, only the tasks.

Also, I could have just disabled the tasks manually but this is nice as a quick test to see if that will even resolve the issue and so far GFE seems to run fine with those tasks disabled.

I also hope that the option "Run in background and disable Nvidia telemetry services and tasks" takes into account which settings I've chosen to disable in the Telemetry tab instead of being literal and disabling both.
