Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Memory Leak any version above v0.54

Open JordanRemix opened this issue 9 months ago • 2 comments

Describe the bug

While traversing the world with any RTX Remix version above 0.54 will cause memory to go up drastically and keeps building up till the game drops to 5FPS and eventually crashes. This issue also occurs in GTA: San Andreas and likely GTA: 3 though untested.

It seems somewhat connected to moving around, as standing still the memory still goes up but much slower.

How do you reproduce the bug?

Just a basic install of Vice City with SilentPatch+DDraw, Crosire Wrapper, and the 1.0 version exe. Driving around for about 10-30 minutes will reproduce this issue.

What is the expected behavior?

Memory usage should be similar to any version 0.54 or below.

Thanks for reaching out! We've filed REMIX-4354 for internal tracking.

In the meantime, will you please try the following:

  • Add this to dxvk.conf: rtx.profiler.memory.enable = True
  • In the Remix menu, go to Developer Menu > Dev Settings > Memory Profiler
  • Check to see if the leak is visible there, some values may be going up in correlation with the memory leak Note that the leak might not be noticeable there, as this primarily tracks Vulkan memory.

Hi @JordanRemix - checking in to see if you've been able to try the above instructions and check for a memory leak. If you can, any info you glean from it would be a big help for us. Thanks!
