What is the context of the feature/improvement?

Many games do not have properly functioning skies or skyboxes, and the current best workaround appears to be anchoring a large sphere to a prop, marking it as a sky element, then going from there. This is a major hassle and isn't ideal.

Please describe the feature/improvement?

This would allow for easy configuration and addition of skyboxes in games that have been Remixed.

What would be your solution? (optional)

I propose the following:

  • Ability to add a skybox to a world without manually adding and modifying a mesh
    • Size control for said skybox
  • An artificial sun and moon that act as light sources
    • Ideally with custom textures that can be specified
  • The ability to control rotation speed and axis of the sun/moon and skybox separately
    • Ideally, also a basic cloud system. essentially these would act as layers on top of each other

Version

2024.3.1

This would be huge, The ability to relight a level is fundamental to the idea behind remix. Interiors work well, we know this from portal. Exteriors are struggling and something like would be a fantastic solution

I second the motion, this would be very useful in a lot of my projects

+1. This would be killer, many older titles also simply have fairly blurry skyboxes that could use a good facelift

I found that i could not select or even find skybox in the captured scene as a mesh to modify. Even tho it was there somehow and had textures.
