docs: enhance README

Open matthewbcool opened this issue 2 weeks ago • 3 comments

Description

This semi-automated PR was generated with AI tools

Updates the README to focus on developer experience and broader adoption. By surfacing a self-contained "Hello World" example and simplifying the introductory language, we aim to significantly reduce the time-to-first-run for new users. The layout has been restructured to improve navigation between prerequisites, official documentation, and feedback channels, effectively bridging the gap between the project's technical foundation and the wider Python developer community.

Note: this is a test to build scalable, helpful updates to readme's across open source projects. Welcome feedback and edits on this update.

Will need help making sure we are not missing any critical pieces in quickstart - comparing to our docs here: https://docs.nvidia.com/cuda/cutile-python/quickstart.html

@matthewbcool thank you for your contribution. We cannot take this PR as is but we are happy to incorporate some of the ideas into a README change that is already inflight.
