controlling user account and other security dialogs using nvdaremote 2.4
When using nvdaremote 2.4 in user account control andother security dialogs, nvdaremoe connects to the host, but the on-top remote connection between controlling (master) and controlled (slave) pc is not been re-estableshed.
= what I did = == on the controlled PC ==
- I configured nvdaremote to automatically connect when nvda starts.
- I applied these settings to the system defaults by using the "apply current settings to system defaults" button in general nvda settings
= what I expect to happen = When a security dialog comes up, the nvdaremote connection should be (re-)estableshed to make it possible to access these dialogs via remote sessions.
= what happens = When a security dialog comes up, the nvdaremote instance connects to nvdaremote.com, but the connection between the pcs is not been estableshed.
= test environments =
- nvda 2021.3.1 and 2021.2
- Windows 10 21h2 and Windows 11
= workaround = until now, the only known workaround is to downgrade to nvdaremote 2.3.
Have you tried building from the master branch? I believe there was a commit that addressed this issue after 2.4 was actually released.
If you can't build from master, I have a build here that I built back in June or July of 2021, which should address this. This is the version I have been using, and I've had no problems with User Account Control or other secure dialogs.
I believe the issue has been resolved so we can close this
