Question: Is there a way to calculate annual yield of a bifacial array

Open StainesThomas opened this issue 3 years ago • 4 comments

Was just wondering if there is a way to calculate yield using existing functions within bifacial radiance / or by using something like pvlib? Have attempted to use the "8 - Advanced topics - Calculating Power Output and Electrical Mismatch" Jupyter tutorial to calculate mismatch and power, however upon running the code the following error is given and I am not sure how to fix this?

If anyone has done yield calculations using the irradiance values calculated from bifacial radiance and is able to direct me towards them it would be greatly appreciated.

Or perhaps if anyone had any luck importing irradiance values into SAM some way

There is a new function on the development branch, but it's not read. It ties the irradiance results into pvlib with a CEC module. It should be worked on more on the next couple weeks.

Great to hear, would be very excited to use it when it is integrated

There's a version in the development branch now under performance.py. I'm not sure that we have an end-to-end demonstration example ready yet though.

I saw that, that looks great. That will simplify using the GUI for htat too! great thinking
