On RPM based platforms the yum provider for packages isn't efficient. Because many single packages are managed the runtime increases up to 15 or 20 minutes.

Solutions:

  1. using nagios-plugins-all and require the repo 'powertools' as a prerequisite
  2. create and use a 'meta package' or package group
