Editor bug: Clicked Submit and the submit button spinned but never submitted

A user just experienced this bug today in Beta. The tomcat logs do not show a POST request sent for either the EML, EML draft, or resource map. Only his two data files were submitted successfully.

We have the EML serialization enclosed in a try/catch so I don't think this was an exception during serialization. Something must have happened where either the package never tried to submit or an uncaught exception caused the whole process to fail.

I haven't seen this before, so this will take some extensive testing to figure out. Used Firefox 60 on Mac

I encountered this whilst testing allowedSubmitters functionality on the knb dev cluster k8s instance.

Mac OS Sonoma 14.5 (23F79) Safari Browser Version 17.5 (19618.2.12.11.6) MetacatUI v2.30.0 Matacat v3.0.0 (develop branch)

nothing in the metacat logs
nothing in the network inspector
the only error I saw in the console was this:

TypeError: null is not an object (evaluating 'Object.keys(errorObj)')        keys - EMLGeoCoverageView.js:294
