Add a set on the webpage: Top10

Open cecilehannay opened this issue 3 years ago • 3 comments

New feature type

Other (please explain below)

What is this new feature?

I would like to add a set of plots: Top10. This would be the 10 plots more commonly looked at.
(Top10 is just an example, it could be Top12 or Top15).

As a starting point, we could have: Global: RESTOM Lat/Lon: SST, TS, SWCF, LWCF, PRECT, PSL, TAU
Taylor Diags

Assistance required?

No, I will make a PR when the feature is ready

Extra info

No response

OK Top ten (I hope it's possible to mix and match sets?) Have to consider what will work for model-model and model-obs comparisons.

And @cecilehannay this is most important for you and Julio. What do you look at ALL the time, so that you don't have to flick around webpage sets?

-TABLES (ANN) -Taylor (ANN) set4 -Q (ANN) set 5_6 -PRECT (DJF, JJA, ANN) -SWCF (ANN) -LWCF (ANN) -TS (ANN)

Global time series: 1) RESTOM; 2) TS (maybe with land and ocean separated out); 3) Global depth averaged ocean temperature (these can be removed for F-cases)

Lat/lon maps: 1) PSL; 2) TS; 3) TAU; 4) U200 (JJA and DJF); 5) SWCF; 6) LWCF; 7) PRECT (ANN, JJA and DJF); 8) U10

Height-latitude zonal means (I prefer height over pressure as vertical coord): 1) U (JJA and DJF), 2) T (JJA and DJF)

Taylor diagrams: ...

Might be good to think about separate topN lists for model vs obs and then for experiment vs CTL

It confirms we are basically all looking at the same thing (give or take one or 2 plots).

I agree that we will need a different layout for model to model or model versus obs.
