acquiring data from DHM in Nepal

• the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology in Nepal has hydro/met data available for a fee
• Shruti has all hydro and met station data for their focus area (Trishuli Basin) and is sharing those with HiMAT.
• the CHARIS Project has also ordered these data and they are not allowed to share
• Shruti has provided Bruce with contact information

• [ ] Bruce: contact Dr. Rijan / work with DHM to get permission to distribute data
• [x] Anthony: look into costs and how this can be covered by HiMAT
• [x] Shruti: available to assist in connecting the appropriate people

@RAppana is reviewing metadata that Shruti provided and will assist in assembling an order.

Looked into the meta data for rainfall and streamflow at all available stations and in the process of preparing the data request forms. There are some provision for using the data and these are currently being reviewed by the HiMAT team.

Questions for the team, posted to slack #ground_data:

• [x] should we order stations no longer operational, esp those pre-1980?
• [x] metadata files are corrupt or out of date. Can anyone assist?
• [x] @aaarendt to send out a survey similar to PMD one so that everyone signs off on the terms of data sharing

FYI - we now have the metadata for temperature stations too (reached out to DHM and got working copies of the corrupt excel files)

• [ ] review documents in the /DHM_data folder and locate Excel files compiling the stations
• [ ] check back with Ravi to be sure this is accurate
• [ ] compile the order together with the letter and signatures of PIs wishing to use the data
• [ ] submit order to @aaarendt to issue to UW
• [ ] once data arrive help in distributing to the team
