QuickTime X and the removal of QuickTime Pro

In the latest versions of OS X QuickTime Pro is no longer included. Would it be possible to expose the functionality of this project as a command line? I've done a lot of digging and everything I've found says that this encoder is the only way to get around the QuickTime Gamma Bug because ICM OS X libraries are used to create the .mov container.
