[BUG] Wireless Debugging Fails to Start (toggle not working)(ADB already installed)

Open TheLuminousArtemis opened this issue 2 years ago • 1 comments

Describe the bug | 描述一下这个错误

I was following the guide for sideloading and followed all the steps.

When I execute the command in the adb directory and containing the apk.

.\adb pair <IPv4 Address>:58526

I get the further step to write the pair code which is only available on wireless debugging so I can't exactly go any further.

When I toggle on the wireless debugging setting in Developer Options, the switch immediately switches off again. It stays on for like less than half a second or even less. Rest all the settings in the Developer Options and Android settings are working apart from the Wireless debugging option.

Steps to reproduce the issue | 重现该问题的步骤

  1. Open Windows Subsystem for Android.
  2. Advanced Settings from the sidebar.
  3. Developer Options toggled on.
  4. Open Manage Developer Settings.
  5. Scroll down to Debugging Options.
  6. Toggle on wireless debugging.

Expected behaviour | 预期的行为

  • Toggle to stay on, not turn off immediately and display all the information which is displayed on wireless debugging options like -
    • Device Name
    • IP Address and Port
    • Pair device with QR Code
    • Pair device with pairing code
    • Paired devices.

Additional context | 额外的背景

I have tried almost all troubleshooting, I could possibly try.

  • I have re-enabled the wireless debugging toggle multiple times from inside the Windows Subsystem for Android app, from the Android settings itself.
  • Tried repairing from Apps > Installed Apps > Advanced options
  • Reset the app from the aforementioned options.
  • Tried the latest version as of making this issue (2305.40000.6.0_x64_Release-Nightly-with-magisk)
  • Tried an older version (2305.40000.3.0_x64_Release-Nightly-with-magisk) (Initially installed this)
  • Tried disabling the Windows Defender Firewall to try the wireless debugging toggle as I initially thought maybe the firewall was blocking it in anyway, but this did not help it.

I also found someone else's post on Microsoft Community/Helpdesk but the Microsoft volunteer had no solutions apart from sending the feedback to MS.

There were a few solutions Stack Overflow but none of them seem to work.

  • I was trying to sideload applications so for the time being I am using WSATools which is doing the job.

@TheLuminousArtemis Have you seen this guide? https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/android/wsa/#enable-developer-mode-in-windows-settings

That guide is severely outdated. Sorry for the confusion! I will update it very soon!
