Thanks, but I did shortly experiment with GH sponsors a few years ago, but quickly figured that money won't solve any problem this project has - problem is not enough time, not enough brains (like all open source projects). Adding money just creates new problems. If you have money to spare, there are plenty of organizations that try to improve this ugly filthy world, and they can put your money to good use.

My stance on these sponsorship things is that they are not a way to solve problems, or to incentivise work, but just a way for folks like me to say thank you without further expectation. I totally understand your perspective though! Thank you again for mpd 💜

Should we start a discussion how we can support the project elsewhere? Code contributions and so on? A more agile community of mpd supporters would be great, let us create them!

Engaging some helpful people that are managing the issues and answer discussions would be good first step.
