With disabled Firefox Sync - Settings getting lost and needing to be reapplied

Open JulianWebb opened this issue 4 years ago • 4 comments

Hello,

I am finding that after a little while, I'm not sure the exact time frame, TST Colored Tabs will revert to using the default settings causes tabs to be brightly coloured, sometimes causing issues reading the titles. Screenshot from 2020-06-04 05-28-51 When I go into Add-ons Manager and click "Save and apply settings", the settings seem to take affect and stay correct for a while. Screenshot from 2020-06-04 05-30-35

I am currently using versions: TST Colored Tabs 0.7 Tree Style Tabs 3.5.4 Mozilla Firefox 76.0.1 Pop!_OS 20.04 LTS

Let me know if you need more information.

Thanks.

As well, it seems like after reapplying the settings, new tabs don't get any coloration. Screenshot from 2020-06-04 05-43-22

After a bit of digging around, I would hazard a guess that this issue is related to you using the sync storage. I don't sign into my browsers if I can help it, but I don't expect you to make an exception for my use-case.

Thanks for reporting this issue, I not test this with sync disabled. I will try to implement some workaround, for make save settings work with disabled sync.

Actually, I can reproduce the problem (or a very similar one) with sync enabled. If I accidentally hide the sidebar by clicking the TST icon, then show the sidebar again, the colours are set to the default. Going into the extension preferences and re-applying the settings fixes the colours.
