TickerView expansion bug

Notice how the tickerView visibly expands outward on each end over the course of over 10 seconds, until it stops expanding. In otherwords, the ticker view initially shows at a given width, and over time, the width dramatically increases, but it happens so gradually, at first you might not notice it.
