Add Realms of the Dragon Mud to mud list.
Hi team, I'd like to respectfully request the inclusion of Realms of the Dragon (ROTD) in the default MUD list. About the Game: • Name: Realms of the Dragon • Genre: Fantasy, Roleplaying • Host: mud.rod.org • Port: 3000 • Homepage: https://www.realmsofthedragon.org • Telnet/Web Client: https://mud.rod.org Why It Belongs: ROTD is a long-standing, richly detailed fantasy MUD with a small but loyal player base and active development. It features: • Deep lore and immersive worldbuilding with over 20K rooms • Custom codebase with unique mechanics • Active staff and community • Customized Mudlet Graphical User Interface launched Nov. 2025
Adding ROTD would help new players discover a vibrant, story-driven world and support Mudlet's growth with our custom GUI available only through Mudlet application.
Please let me know if any additional information is needed. I’d be happy to assist with testing or formatting to ensure smooth integration.
Thanks for considering this request!

Not bad. I like the cool enemy pictures that update as they come and go.
Since you don't seem to be using GMCP/MSDP, maybe an command that initiates install of the GUI? I had to search and install it myself from the repository.
There is no default map, and as it doesn't look like you utilise room names you might find generic_mapper has a bit of a time working. Maybe some instructions on how to get it working with generic_mapper on the wiki, or a custom script? Let us know your thoughts on that.
Apart from that you hit most of the criteria at https://wiki.mudlet.org/w/Listing_Your_MUD
Thanks for your submission.
p.s. https://www.realmsofthedragon.org/beginners.html hits a 404 page.
Hi ZookaOnGit,
That is great news.
I will add some documentation on mapping with Generic Mapper on our Wiki and let the Web Guru know about the invalid link.
Best Regards!
Hi ZookaOnGit,
We added a "Beginner Guide" and Mudlet Generic Mapper mapping instructions to this site:
https://realms-of-the-dragon.fandom.com/wiki/Realms_of_the_Dragon_Wiki.
Kindly, let us know what other steps are needed. Thanks for your help.
Was just looking over the mapping guide at https://realms-of-the-dragon.fandom.com/wiki/Category:Map
Whilst the mapper does seem to work out of the box now the instructions seem like it was written by AI as it is incorrect in many parts; there is no Settings -> Mapper (it's Toolbox -> Show map), no Add Exit menu, the Navigation section is misleading as none of that functionality exists. I'd recommend a tidy up there.
What did you think about adding a command to install the GUI straight from the game?
Anything to add here @vadi2 ?
Yep, the GUI needs to be either auto installed or installed with a command that's prompted to the player (see ensure your scripts get installed, and stays updated...
And the mapper needs to have at least the newbie area loaded, so players can start to understand how to use it:
Include a map of the newbie area at minimum.
Thanks for your help and thanks for reviewing. I am working with the immortals and will try and get that added.
I will update you when we are done.
Best Regards!
