Add a CLI Command to directly launch in fullscreen: --fullscreen
Description of requested feature:
Open the app in fullscreen via CLI command: --fullscreen
Reasons for adding feature:
It would be useful for the Steam Deck to directly be able to launch a profile in fullscreen.
Ah, I've just thought - are you basing this on the last release or the current state of play in the Public Test Betas? The reason I ask is that we've improved the handling of the full-screen option and the latter now includes PR #7773 which makes:
- the control for it always be present
- the full-/non-full- screen state to be remembered and reproduced between Mudlet application runs
- Mudlet to be aware of and accommodate instructions from the Operating System and Desktop Environment to enter/leave full-screen mode.
As such, after setting Mudlet to full-screen once, by whatever means, it shouldn't be necessary to have to force it into that mode again.
TBH The need for such an option is probably not going to be as strong in the next release (4.20.0) version.
Yes, I'm basing it on the current stable.
But I could switch over to a specific snapshot https://make.mudlet.org/snapshots/?platform=linux&source=ptb
I do wonder how the new options will behave inside a flatpak environment :)
I'm not sure the need would go away directly, as the --fullscreen --profile=XXXX would make sure that mudlet always is starting in fullscreen and opening just that profile no matter what.
Also if you need help with a flatpak or advice about it you can talk to Xargon over at RetroDECK :)
@Lazorne the option will be added in https://github.com/Mudlet/Mudlet/pull/7980.
