Wrong number of games scanned every time I perform a scan

Open nikosandreou opened this issue 4 months ago • 5 comments

Hi there.

I noticed than in both my Amigas, an A1200/030 (I use igame.030) and an A4000/040 (I use igame.040), every time I scan the game repos, I get different results. Originally, I thought I missed something between my A1200 and A4000 files, but they were exactly the same number files in each Amiga. Then, I scanned, I re-scanned and noticed a difference in the games found after every scan. I attach two gamelist files from each machine that display the issue. Some examples of duplicate results is this.

0;"Wild Streets";"Action / Fighter 2D";"Games:WHDLoad/Games/Released/W/WildStreets/WildStreets.slave";0;0;0;0;0;"";1990;1;"ECS,OCS"; 0;"Wild Streets";"Action / Fighter 2D";"Games:WHDLoad/Games/Released/W/WildStreets//";0;0;0;0;0;"";1990;1;"ECS,OCS";

0;"Hired Guns (Game Demo) (512k)";"RPG / Dungeon Crawler";"Games:WHDLoad/Games/Released/H/HiredGunsDemo512k/Game";0;0;0;0;0;"";1993;4;"ECS,OCS"; 1;"Hired Guns (Game Demo) (512k)";"RPG / Dungeon Crawler";"Games:WHDLoad/Games/Released/H/HiredGunsDemo512k/HiredGunsDemo512k.Slave";0;0;0;0;0;"";1993;4;"ECS,OCS";

@nikosandreou I am so sorry for that bad experience. I believe this was fixed with the release v2.4.5. Which version are you using? Can you please try the latest 2.6.0 and let me know if the problem continues to occur? I would suggest removing the gameslist.csv file before you run it and do a fresh scan.

@walkero-gr Forgot to mention it, I use latest version 2.6.0. I saw this happening for sometime. I also did remove gameslist.csv in both machines, and all the re-scans I did was with gameslist.csv being removed each time.

Can you please let me know which OS are you using and if that is based on any distribution (ClassicWB, AmiKit etc)? Also, do you know if this is happening always with the same games?

I will investigate it more and see if I can find the problem and have a fix.

On my A1200, it is orignal Wokbench 3.0. On A4000, almost vanilla OS 3.9 from original CD.

Both systems are on PFSAIO (if that makes a difference).

Regarding games, I did another scan using WinUAE on an hdf from A4000. Some games are the same as the one in the list I attached earlier, some are new. The confirmed ones that are the same are

Breathless B-17 Flying Fortress Cabaret Asteroids Hired Guns

The rest in the lists differ.
