Please can you provide details of the effect that Active Auras is trying to apply, as well as screen shots of the item configuration.

You need to add an element to the Force display on token on the effect Details tab as well. A simple 1 will work.

This is some oddities with the debug mode, it doesn't always complete the aura drawing if there is no one caught in the aura.

This definitely works, and works for my Spike Growth macro attached to a template. Worth noting I had difficulties getting it working on anything other than a "preActiveEffects" on use...
