Launcher closes immediately after checking for updates on macOS Catalina

When I open the TerasologyLauncher app on macOS 11.15.2, it checks for updates and then closes. Clicking "show contents" and directly running the binary in TerasologyLauncher.app/Contents/MacOS solves this problem; it seems to work correctly that way.
