Feature Request: Remove jQuery

Hi! Now IE11 is (almost) out of the way, it's possible to remove jQuery, as that removes the biggest differences among browsers. Why: people with other JS frameworks can use it - hence Bootstrap v5 has dropped it. Having just done this, a lot of work, but not as scary as it sounds. As always, thanks for all the work you do on tablesorter Andrew
